Dear Member,

Welcome to the first edition of "At the Crease"  - a newsletter keeping you up to date with whats happening at Forest District Cricket Club. A huge welcome to all the new families that have joined our Club and also a welcome back to all of you that had so much fun last year that you are coming back for more! We are looking forward to a great season and hope that you are all dusting off the cricket bats and pads and getting ready for lots of cricket action!
Forest Family Orientation Day
As there is so many new families to the club we have decided to hold a family orientation day and bbq to welcome everyone to the new season ahead.  This day will be held at Melwood Oval, Forestville on Sunday September 7th at 1.00PM.  The day will also be used as an opportunity to hand out gear and clothing for all teams, so make sure you don't miss what will be a great day to launch the upcoming season.

Coach the Coaches CoursesElite Cricket logo
Forest District Cricket Club is providing comprehensive training for our coaches to be conducted by Elite Cricket. These courses will be held on Saturday, 6 September and Sunday,14 September from 3 - 5 p.m at Melwood Oval.   

We strongly encourage all of our prospective coaches and other interested parents to attend. These courses are an excellent opportunity  to learn skills for all ages, coaching drills and skill sessions which you will be to attend please e-mail our coaching co-ordinator, Scott Larsen by no later than 29 August.

All teams from u11's upwards are now obliged to have two ticketed umpires. The Manly Warringah Junior Cricket Association are running courses (held over two evenings) to obtain an umpire's ticket. Our club have volunteered to host both the Stage one information session as well as the Stage two exam at the Forestville RSL Club (to make it easier for our members to get there!). The sessions will start at 7:30 p.m. and finish by 10 p.m. Stage one is being held on Thursday, 28 August (Forestville RSL Club) and Stage Two on Wednesday, 10 September.
